I started to learn Chinese Xieyi -- freehand brushworks from Nov, 2003. At the first, my hand was tremble and my bird was not like a bird ? for I did not be allowed to make any draft with a pencil at the first. So, I did not paint it except in my art lesson to be asked by the teacher for I was not very interested in it.
Anyway, one night, when I was painting my daily sketch, I suddenly thought, since my Chinese art teacher asked me to paint Chinese Xieyi painting every day, why I did not paint it with a brush as a practice as I paint a skech? So, I got up very early next morning and I painted my first bird with a brush and color directly... :-)
When I saw my bird on the tree with a lovely way, I was smiling to myself and then, in whole of 2005, almost every art lesson, I painted a Chinese Xieyi painting according to a title that my teacher gave me... :-)
Now I have entered the created time. I have painted 63 Chinese Xieyi painting and 99 Gouaches and 16 Chinese Going Bi painting. I have started to learn Big Xieyi -- to brush and also to pour color on a picture...
I do feel that is a more comfortable way to express a person's feelings.
I am thinking to combine Chinese Gongbi, Chinese Xieyi and Gouache together to create my own art style... :-) Anyway, I have not mastered the 3 kinds of art forms well yet, so, I will work harder in 2006 and let you see what will happen in 2007... :-)
I am a part time art student now and in whole of my rest life. I do wish to get your support, directions and help. So, if you have any questions, comments and suggestions, please write to shirley@ebridge.cn or shirleyz004@yahoo.com, or publish your opinions in Forum For Friends. You are welcomed.
