Remarks:
This is my 59th Chinese Xieyi -- freehand brushwork in traditional Chinese painting that I created during my art lesson on Wednesday evening. :-) This is the 3rd time that I learned to paint a bamboo with a brush directly. I have not mastered the way to paint it well. :-) It is said that to paint bamboo will be the thing along with whole of the life of an artist. So, I will often paint it in the coming time as well. :-)
Do you know why Chinese enjoy bamboo from ancient time until now? First of all, it is something very beautiful; secondly, it can be a food when it very young; thirdly and the most important point ? its inside is empty and its surface is straight. :- ) Both of the characteristics inside and outside are just something that Chinese admire. In our culture, we admire a person who is very modesty ? a quality to accept something new and something better from the other world or from the other people with a very empty heart, just like the inside of a bamboo. Meanwhile, we admire the quality to be honesty, upright and fair just like a bomber as well. So, from very ancient time until now, bamboo is something to be painted and admired by literature and art works.
As usual, I spent at least a half of my time on my birds when I created a Xieyi picture. :-) On this picture, I wanted to my birds to find "surprised" about the spring. Do you enjoy their expressions? :-)
