Remarks: This is and my 763rd painting since 2003, the 418th Chinese Xieyi Painting, the 78th Landscape ( the 14th Chinese Ink Landscape), and my 162nd assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts since Oct 7, 2011.
I learned to paint this painting from Fan Kuan <990¨C1020>who was one of the greatest artists in Song Dynasty (960¨C1279) and his paintings were considered as the No. One then and even today, therefore, even though it is a very difficult thing to paint this painting, I chose to do it because I wanted to learn from the best ancient artist.
I worked on this painting for 11 days, in a very hard work and living conditions -- it is about -5 to 6 C degrees out of the door, it has not offered heat in my room and in the classroom, the temperature in the my classroom is 13 to 14 C degrees. Whole of Beijing should be applied heat before Nov 15. It is said here is a new development area, therefore, there is no a schedule to applied heat yet.
Many times, when I felt the ache in my bones, found the edema was getting much more and looked at the chaps on my hands and face in the cold season, I wanted to give up and went back home at one, since it is still 18 - 24 C degrees in Shenzhen.
But, when I worked on it while I listened to the records of my professors in China Central Academy of Fine Arts and in Chinese National Academy of Arts, the more I listened to, the more I got the encouragement to keep studying here... the more I painted this painting, the more I felt there were too many things that I had to learn. Day and day, finally, I basically complete it.
I will ask my tutor whether I should color it with light colors in the lessons tomorrow and try to improve it...
Do you know what I wanted to do when I work on it? I wish that I will have an opportunity to visit Taiwan and to see this painting with my own eyes in the the Palace Museum in Taiwan...
Anyway, I will think of my health and to decide to go back Shenzhen or not... :-)
How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
