Title: Shirley's Daily Chinese Painting Practices-42 Art Works 1020- Bamboo--Xieyi-550-A338- Shirley's 388th Assignment at Chinese National Academy of Arts-June 24, 2015
Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang
Size: 70cm x 45cm (27.55inches x 17.71inches)
Completed Time: June 24, 2015
Remarks:
This is my 549thChinese Xieyi Painting and my 1020th painting since 2003, the 388th assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts.

The more I painted bamboo and orchid, the more I enjoyed the painting process. It can only improve my painting skills, but also it can help my health. Because every time, when I paint it with a brush directly, I have to stand by the desk; hold my breath; my army and hand do not attach on the desk; instead of making a draft, I paint directly with the brush...

Even though I often feel very tired after a daily practice, I really feel it is one of the best exercises to improve my health level.

So, now, I just have some new understanding why Chinese think that to paint bamboo and orchid is a way to cultivate one's mind. :-)

In the past one week, I did 39 daily practices with 140 pieces of paper. They are two of them.

How do you think of the two paintings? Which one is a little better?
