Title: Shirley Created Art --Chinese Gongbi--025: Butterflies Love Flowers -- My 22nd Painting in the US
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 53cm x 79cm (20.86inch x 31.10inch) on Silk
Completed Time: Sat July 4, 2009
Remarks:
This is my 25thChinese Gongbi Painting and it is my 390th pictures since 2003, the 21st picture that I have created in 2009, the 22nd painting in the US.

This week, I made a big decision to re-create a Chinese Gongbi Painting.

Maybe you will ask why?

Because, not like Chinese Xieyi Painting to emphasize the freedom and the spirit's similar ? as long as you feel it is a bird, that is ok. Chinese Gongbi more emphasizes details and requires artist to paint every thing, the feather of a bird, the leave of a flower very clear, the more near the true things, the better.

So, a Chinese Gongbi painting usually needs a long time to work on. A funny experience that I still remember is that after I completed my Second Chinese Gongbi Portrait Painting and my First Chinese Gongb Portrait and went down the floor, my car could not be turned on for the electricity had gone --I had not drive it for too long time.. :-)

So, since Nov, 2007, I had not been creating any Chinese Gongbi Painting for I had no much time to work on it. And I did not think that maybe it was impossible for me to create any Chinese Gongbi painting during I am studying in the US.

But, when I thought that my individual art exhibition will maybe displayed in the US in the near future, I should at least re-createone or two Chinese Gongbeing Paintings. I was relatively satisfy this picture, but it is in Cacada right now.

So, I spent for about 40 hours in the American Independence Day's holiday day and completed my new painting on the silk. Now I have not make it to be evened yet.

I do hope you enjoy it and find that have made a little more than the last two pictures.
