I created this picture to match a Chinese classical poem by a famous poet Chen Shen in Tang Dynasty (618-907) and to describe a landscapes in the Northwest of China. It is a long and famous poem. Its first 4 sentences are the most famous for it has written out some beautiful view after a snow in the far away place in August:

The north wind rolls and breaks white grass
snow is flying in Hu in August,
As if the spring breeze suddenly comes.
blossom out thousands pear flowers

When I was creating it, I imagined what the pear flowers like in the snow and I created two birds that are flying facing the wind with a brave and optimistic quality and the lovely feeling of caring for each other in the hard and cold times...

Can you feel the spring breath in the snow via this painting?

I had no much free time to paint, and I was listening to some lesson about corporation's social responsibility on Saturday. So, I created in the early morning, lunch time or in the midnight. But, I was smiling when I saw my ideas and imagination in my mind has been on the paper.

I was excited to paint the snow on the pictures. After all, I have not seen any snow for about 24 years already. :-)

Is there snow on your side in the winter? How do you think of this picture? Do you enjoy it?
