 Chun Xiao -- A Spring Morning is a very simple but quite famous Chinese classical poem by a Tang Dynasty poet Meng Haoran. With just 4 lines and 20 Chinese characters, it has written out a very vivid and fresh slice of life.
This is my 69th Combined Paintingthat I have created / painted for Chinese Classical Poetry, and my 689th painting since 2003 ; also, it is my 61st assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.
I started this painting at maybe April 20 during I was painting from the nature in a garden of peach blossoms every day, so, I just painted it after I came back from the nature or in the night time.
I did feel that the sketch from the nature has helped me so much that I did have some new feeling every night when I went back to the painting. Even though I painted on it for a longer time that I did the other similar size painting, I did feel nice in my heart. :-)
I painted this painting to match a Chinese classical poem and I had painted a painting for it Sep, 2011, and also I had created a piece of music to match the poem in 2005.
This weekend, I re-recorded the music and re-sang it. But for I could not sit for a long time, therefore, I could not re-write the comments of the poem and to re-record the language part yet. I will do that after my health is improved some day.
I do hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and language.

Spring Morning

Sleeping in a spring night, I've missed the dawn.
Eveywhere I heard the songs of birds.
In the night's wind and rain,
How many flowers have fallen?

春眠不觉晓 - Chūn mián bù jué xiǎo,
处处闻啼鸟 - Chùchù wén tíniǎo。
夜来风雨声 - Yèlái fēngyǔ shēng，
花落知多少 - Huāluò zhī duōshǎo。
