Title: Shirley's Art Works 903 & Chinese Xieyi 500 & A262 -- Shirley's 304th Assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts - June 17, 2014 |
Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang |
Size: 36.00cm x 70.00cm ( 14.4 inches x 27.55inches) |
Completed Time: June 17, 2014 |
Remarks: This is my 500 Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 904th painting since 2003, the 305th assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts.
This is the second time that Mr. Wu Tong - Associate Head of Teaching Department of Chinese Painting School at Chinese National Academy of Arts asked me to paint a small painting for him. Last time was at the end of 2012 class - year - July, 2013.
Felt much honor ( in the art college, usually, we feel honor if a staff asks a student to paint a painting for him or her) I painted this painting very seriously because Mr. Wu Tong is the one who has helped me since I came to Chinese National Academy of Arts.
I decided to paint a rooster, because its Chinese pronunciation is same as Ji -- Luck. I do hope that Mr. Wu Tong, his wife and child will be luckier, happier and more successful in the future new class years, and to express my endless appreciation to him and to the teaching department.
