LISTEN TO SHIRLEY TO SING THE POEM OCT 1, 2007 LISTEN TO THE TEXT OCT 1,2007
Via Google, a friend found the poem that I had translated in 2005 and my little web site. When I re-viewed what I had worked 2 years ago, I did feel that I should improve it as soon as possible. After all, then, I had not saved any new words into the database and I just started to create my own music to match it. Every thing was in the beginning...
So, today, I would like to re-work on it in my holiday, to re-record the text, music and singing for you once more.
This is a great send-off poem by Tang Dynasty poet Gao Shi, it is famous for its last two lines -- Mo Chou Qianlu Wu Zhiji, Tianxia Shuiren to Shi Jun -- Don't worry for not having a bosom friend on your traveling road ahead, who does not know you as a famous musician in the world?
I enjoy it for it was encouraging a friend who would go on his long and hard traveling road in a heavy snow with a very optimistic and positive life attitude...
As one of my favorite poems, I had translated it and had written a piece of music to match it at very early time, when I just found of the little web site...
For making a memory, I have made a link of my work earlier below, and hope you find that I have made a little bit progress now...:-)
