LISTEN TO SHIRLEY SING THE SONG
Because of the holiday, I did not remember which day was Saturday, so I called my vocal music teacher on Friday night for my lesson instead of my normal time -- Saturday night. . :-)
It is funny that I have been busier during in my holiday than when I am at work. I have been working on my new project because I had found that many places needed improvement or to be reformed in our current work, so that I did not prepare and think what I would like to sing until my teacher came to my home. :-)
I had to follow my teacher to sing this song. :-)
This is a famous Chinese folk song admiring the typical Chinese family life style and what is the ideal social division of work in minds of most Chinese -- men work out of the home for the country, women work at home to look after their parents, children and to support their husbands' careers. :-)
I do hope that my work on this song will bring you a big smile and make you think a little... :-) Also, I hope it is a little help to you in improving your Chinese aural comprehension... :-)
MAIN MEANING OF THE SONGLISTEN TO SHIRLEY SING THE SONG:
The moon in the mid-autumn festival is shining both of our hometown and the border. In the peaceful night, both of us are missing each other. I am looking at our baby by his/her cradle, you are patrolling on the country's frontier. I am working on the farmland in the hometown, you are standing guard in the frontier.
Ah... There is our sweet in the autumnal fruit, The decoration belongs to both of us.
The moon in the mid-autumn festival is shining our hometown and the border. In the peaceful night, both of us are missing each other.
I am looking after our presents at home, you are dedicating yourself to the motherland. I am shouldering the task of our family, you are protecting the country's safety.
Ah... We are contributing to a prosperous country, We are wishing all of the families to reunion soon...
