FOREWORD:

Since January 15, I have had 6 travels by air at home and abroad. Except I chose the flights of Cathay Pacific Airlines to have my travel between Sydney and Hong Kong, I had all of my domestic travels by Shenzhen Airlines (ZH).   I like Shenzhen Airlines, for the   wonderful and considerate services of it. For example, on February 2 - the Eve of Chinese New Year we were offered the traditional Chinese food ? Jiaozi and usually, we are offered something very Chinese as our breakfast, such as a Tea egg, porridge and fruit; before the airplane is near the destination, we are reminded to do some excersices by the direction of a stewardess via broadcast;and when the airplane is preparing the landing, we are offered some candy, to help us to reduce the uncomfortable of our ears via the chewing

So, today, I would like to show you how to say something about which airline is your favourite and some grammar relates to express something to the highest degree. And I do hope that my effort will be some help with you to lean Chinese language and culture.

Chinese Grammar

Maybe you have found, the character (zuì)- has been used three times in the first two sentences, to mortify the characters after it, to help to express the meaning of the Most, the Favourite and the Best.

In Chinese, a verb and an adjective usually is modified by an adverb, to express the degree, time, place or style.

(zuì) is an adverb of degree to help a verb or an adjective to express something most, best, longest, shortest, lowest, tallest and so on.

In the two sentences, it helps the verb and adjective after it to express the meaning of "most like", "favourite" and " the best".

For example:

In No. 0207: 最喜欢深圳航空公司(深航最喜爱的航空公司)。   -- I most like Shenzhen Airlines ( It is my favourate airline).

         喜欢
adverb    verb
most       like

the adverb of degree (zuì)"most” to modify the verb 喜欢(xǐhun), both of them together to express the meaning "most like".

        喜爱的
adverb    adjective
most       like

the adverb of degree (zuì)"most” to modify the adjective 喜爱的(xǐàide)fond, both of them together to express the meaning "most favourite" or "favourite".

In No. 0208: 深圳航空公司提供了<最好的服务
-- I like Shenzhen Airlines, because it offers the best service.

        好的
adverb adjective
most      good

最好的 -- the best

the adverb of degree (zuì)"most” to modify the adjective 好的(hǎode)--good, both of them together to express the meaning "most good" -- the best.

So, in Chinese, when we want to express the highest degree of something, we usually use the character "", via modifying a verb or an adjective to express something best, worst, longest, shortest, biggest or smallest and so on. About this, I will show you more along with the time.
