The First Week ... Shirley's 79th Friendly Greeting on Sun, March 4, 2007

Hi,Dear Friends

How are you? Have you had a good new week? I do hope you are well and have a relaxed and easy weekend.

This is the first week after Chinese New Year’s holiday. Monday morning, when we went into the office building, in the hall a big colored slogan "You Are Welcomed to Come Back the Company" welcomed every one. Then, the general manager went to all 12 departments to see every colleague and gave everyone a red bag with money (bonus has been given before the Chinese New Year's Day) to encourage every one to work harder in the new year.

As usual, I used more than 50% of my time to attend or organize meetings. Just on Friday, I attended meetings in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange twice. I accounted my time with minutes instead of hours. So, the telephone is one of my most important tools. Usually, I make more telephone calls than writing letters, for it can save my time much more. Also, the company matched me another new mobile phone. It is a mobile sub-miniature computer with two lines to make telephone calls, connect Internet, do office work and so on. The company wishes me to make a test for we are developing something new on it.

Meanwhile, I have started 2 new researching projects. One is a small technology project, it will be completed in 2 or 3 weeks. The other one is to research the company's location and responsibility in the China multilayer capital market building, because we are standing with some very important duties. Such as to publish the listed company's first hand information, to make and manage the indexes of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, to do something creative and so on.

Work is hard and not easy indeed, but, I am happy for I am one of the lucky people, who can take part in the work to create something for the country and the industry, with my own abilities and intelligence. So I often tell my colleagues in the different meetings that even though you are just a typist, never look down to your work, for you are taking part in the work to create a history. As soon as a data or a word are put into the database, it will be delivered to whole of the world via the stock exchange systems, TV stations, broadcasts, web sites and newspapers. In ten or twenty years, when you have been a mother/father or grandmother/father, you can tell your children/grandchildren, that you are one of the people who are lucky to record and even to create a history.

With a happy heart from my traveling, I created 4 pictures in the past 10 days. A new feeling is that I feel my brushes and painting board have changed to be too small. So, I bought a bigger painting board, new brushes and 9 new art books. I have bought more than 300 art books in the past 4 years. The biggest art store in the city has invited me to be its VIP member. Also, I started my calligraphy practice on Saturday.

How about you? What is your favorite thing in your free life?

I am just a learner on art, music, English, French and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself.

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...
