Roses on the Women's Day... Shirley's 80th Friendly Greeting...Sun, March 11, 2007

Hi,Dear Friends

How are you? Have you had a good week? I do hope you are well and have a relaxed and easy weekend.

This week, in the company, we have adjusted the departments and prepared to sign the contracts with department managers soon. We have set up 14 departments and we will strengthen the service for our consumers, the entrusted business by the government and to develop 3 new products in 3 modern medium fields. We will also start to reform a state company to become a stock company.

For finding more new talented people, we had offered 15 new management places and encouraged everyone to take part in the competition via offering their work plans and management theories and I was one of the officials responsible for the examination. Now, we have listed the names of these new managers and their duties.

Wednesday is Women's Day. As the director of the woman committee, I organized the summary for last year, elected new members and made a plan for 2007. Instead of sending money to the woman colleagues, as we did last year, we sent every woman colleague a red rose with a lovely belt and a celebrate card. We changed our way because we thought both of the Chinese New Year's Day and Woman’s Day were very near, everyone had got a red bag with money for the first Festival, it would be too common for us to send people another same one soon. After all, there are many things that can not be bought by money in the world. Some man colleagues, all members of the committee and me sent 160 roses to our woman colleagues. Meanwhile, the company gave us a half day's holiday and will offer our woman work an enogh financial support.

On March 8, we published an advertisement to invite both of woman and man colleagues to take part in our activities in the first half year. Except Mountain Climbing, Lectures, English and Cantonese Learning, Woman Garden Online, we will start Yoga, Swimming, Pingpang Game and a Chorus. The English training will be given by some foreign teachers still. We will offer every student a Shenzhen Daily on their class day and to help them to improve their ability to discuss the news in English.

I admire the talent work by the members. So, I just give them my main opinions and let them work with their own styles. I am happy to work with these excellent women indeed.

Many people think that I am a successful woman. I do not think so, for I am still a single one. In my opinion, a true successful woman should play 3 roles as a successful professional worker, a lovely wife and a responsible mother as Mrs. Courier, to look after her husband and children at home, to do an excellent job in her work field and to enjoy the happiness from the 3 roles. So, I always asked our woman managers not to work too much in their free time and go back home to accompany their husbands, boyfriends or children. To give themselves some time to learn as a beautiful woman. I often think, since my own life is not complete, I should help more women to have a happy and complete life via my work for them.

What does your company or organization do for your woman employees? What is your thought about a woman's duties in work and life? What kind of women is the best one in your opinions?

I am just a learner on art, music, English, French and the work on the web site in my free time. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself.

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help continuously now and in the coming time...
