On the Road of Seeking a Dream - Shirley's America Travel Diary -098 & 441st Friendly Greeting, Feb 24, 2014

Hi,Dear Friends

How are you? Have you had a good weekend? I do hope you have.

On my side, because I got a new invitation that was out of my plan from Mrs. Wanda Nava (she is on the third photo) from Seymour R-II School, I adjusted my plan and went to Seymour, MO Thursday night and came back Friday night.

In Seymour, not only have I given some new classes for three groups of high school and middle school students, but also, I have gotten some very important gain -- because of the far-sightedness of the Superintendent of the Seymour R-II School, Mr. Bruce Denney (he is on the second and third photos); the support of the principals of Seymour High School, Mr. Brian Wilbanks(he is on the 4th photo) and the effort of Mrs. Wanda Nava, one of my dreams that relates to the development of E-bridge Cross-culture and Comprehensive Art in the K-12 Schools in the USA within the upcoming 3 years, maybe possible to be started from Seymour R-II School in the near future.

Even though I had slept for only 4 hours Thursday night, and then worked for whole of the day, my heart was full of the happiness, appreciation and the sense of mission.

So, on the road going back to Springfield, when I looked at the sunset glow in the sky, I did have a feeling that maybe that was God showing me that my long-term cross-culture and comprehensive art dream will be certainly successful by the good help of so many friendly people of insight and work down to earth in the world.

After all, when I was in Seymour, at Ozarks Technical Community College, Mrs. Kat Allie -- Department Chair of Fine Arts & Humanities, Manager of Fine Art Gallery wrote to me and informed me to see the article by Mrs. Camille F. Daitrich that had been published by Springfield News Leader with the title Chinese artist finds beauty in translation (OTC Fine Arts chair Kat Allie quoted) - Thursday, Feb. 20

In Missouri State University, Ms. Kristan E. Gochenauer, the Executive Assistant to the President informed me that President Smart would be delighted to meet with me next Tuesday.

On my cell phone, as soon as I came back Springfield, I got a message from a parent of a student of Seymour R-II School: Thank you so much for your time and motivation. If you give lessons, let me know, my son is crazy to learn more.

And a student names Zack still kept the little piece of paper I wrote for him, and he now can read all of the Chinese characters on it that I wrote and taught him in Sep, 2013.

As a common student of Chinese National Academy of Arts, a graduate of Missouri State University, what a big honor and what huge support it is on the road to seek my dream of cross-culture and comprehensive art¡

With so much appreciation in my heart and relied on the trinal painkillers, as long as I felt a little bit better from a new and sharp headache for 2 nights and 1 day since I came back Springfield, I got up to write to China, to prepare the upcoming work after I come back China as soon as my art exhibition will be finished.

Anyway, the too sharp ache stopped my music recording job Saturday morning, so that I have to show you the recording that I had done for my 4th painting for the classical poem ¨C Chi Le Chuan Wednesday evening (I knew I would go to Seymour, so I did it earlier than usual).

I have not satisfied its painting and music yet. But I can only re-do it after I come back China.

I am sorry for it, but I do hope you will find some progress in my effort.

My art exhibition will be finished on Thursday, Feb 27. You are welcome to come at the last few days.

You are welcome to see the photos and notes via click on the link.
