 LISTEN TO SHIRLEY TO SINGING THE SONG
 This week, I learned a new Chinese (Shānxi) folk song -- People Said That Shanxi Is In A Good Scene --Ren Shuo Shanxi Hao Fengguang
This song is the theme song of a famous movie The Young Ones In Our Village -- Wo Men Cun Li De Nian Qing Ren that was produced in 1959 by Changchun Film Studio. Director : Ma Feng, Act The Leading Role: Su Li. It is full of the Shānxi local colors. Its main plot is that how a group of young people in a village tried to change the poorness and behindhand situation via blasting cliffs to bring water, then to build a water and electricity station. This movie made a daring trying and allowed two boys love a girls at the same time, and also, it's strong idealist color made many city young people looking forward to a countryside life in 50's.
This song was written by Qiao Yu, Zhang Luzhang wrote its music. It was sung in the movie by a famous folk musician Guo Lanyin first time. :-)
Note: Shānxi and Shǎnxi has same Chinese pinyin, but, one is tone 1, the other is tone 3. For distinguishing both of them.，Chinese government makes a rule that Shānxi keeps its original form and Shǎnxi should be written as Shannxi. You have to know that Shǎnxi's capital is Xian and Shānxi's capital is Taiyuan. They are totally different places. Today, the song we have touched is a fold of Shānxi.

陕西： Shǎnxi -- Shannxi

is singing to flow by my little village.

in the Apricot Village,
We are just at the golden ages,
young boys do not dare to stand
hundreds' hard work,
young girls can embroider
ten thousand's flowers.
We will not get older
for we have dreams always.
You see the grandmothers with white hair,
when they are straight their wastes,
they are just like only 17 or 18 years old... :-)
