 Wenjing is my lovely young little niece, the only duaghter of my younger brother. She is a 13 years old middle school student.
文 静 是 我弟弟唯一的女儿，我可爱的侄女，一个13岁的初中生。
As her grandfather and her aunt -- my father and me, she loves painting and she is learning gouache painting in her free time.
与爷爷和姑姑一样，她喜爱绘画，正在学习水粉画。
During I was in Wuxi City to spend Eve of Chinese Spring Fasitival and Chinese New Year's Day. In the short 3 nights, we painted together for 2 nights. She was so interested in Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand brushworks painting and she asked me to teach her. So, as soon as I reached Wuxi, my sister in law drove us to buy some tools for painting. :-)
在无锡过年的三个晚上，我们一起画了两个晚上。她特别喜欢写意画，而且希望我教她。于是，我一到无锡，我的弟妹就带我们去买工具。
When I taught her to paint, I just asked her to imagine how a flower looks like and I just showed her how to use the color and brush, I did not do anything for her on her paper. Immediately, I found that she has a very good nature on painting. As my mother's words, she can learn to do the same thing that her aunt (Me) needs to learn for 4 years within 1 year... :-)
当我教她的时候，我只让她想象菊花或牡丹是怎么长的，亦只示范用笔与用色的方法，我决不帮她去画，一 切 由她自 己 完 成。立刻，我发现她有极高的绘画天份。用我妈妈的话说，姑姑用四年完成的学业，她可以于一年内完成... :-)
As her grandmother mother, father and her aunt, my mother, my younger brother and me, she plays music instrument, too. Her piano level has reached 7th grade. It is a pity that time did not allow me to make a record of her piano music. Maybe next time?
又如她的奶奶、爸爸和姑姑，文 静 也 喜 欢 弹 琴，她的钢琴水平已经达到了六级。遗憾的是因为时间关系，我未 能 为 她 录 一首钢 琴 曲，也 许 下一次？
The picture below was painted by my niece on Feb 19, before I left in next morning, she worked on it until 0:30. I really thought that she painted some wonderful bamboo leaves, they are better than mine. :-)
下 面 这 幅 画 是 文 静于 二月十九日，大年初二晚上画的，她一直画到了十二点半，我真觉得她的竹叶好极了，比我画得好。
The picture below was painted on Feb 17, the same day night when I just came to Wuxi, on the eve of Chinese New Year, she worked on it before going to eat dinner and after dinner. There were so much enthusiasm. :-)
下 面 这 幅 画 画于二月十七日 -- 是 我 到 达 的 当 天（大年三十）晚上。她饭 前画，饭后又画，充 满 了 激 情。 ：-）
The picture below is my niece and her cousin, a lovely young boy, he is very clever and intelligent, that night, when I was teaching my niece to paint, he was helping my mother to download a Chinese classical poam and music, also had handed my mother to here or there in the resturant. I saw him first time and I do like him. So I rewarded him with a "red bag"(According to Chinese custom, the old persons should give a red bag with money in it to the young family for luck and happiness) for his kind. :-)
I do wish my niece and her cousin, I do wish Chinese children happy and lucky, growing up with smiles in the sunshine.
下 面 照 片 中 的 女 孩 就 是 我 的 侄 女 文 静和她的表弟 -- 一个可爱、懂事的小男孩，我 弟 妹 的 妹 妹 的 孩 子 。 那 天 晚 上，当 我 教 文 静 画 画 时，他 在 帮 我 妈 妈 下 载 歌 曲《昭君怨》。中午，在饭店里吃过饭，又是他主 动 牵着我妈妈的手，带 她 去 洗手间。也 许 是 想 起 了 我 的 儿 子，第一次见到他，我就很十分喜欢他。为了鼓励他的良好的表现，我决定奖励他第二个红包。
我真诚希望我的侄女，她的表弟和所有的中国少年儿童幸福快乐，在阳光下茁壮成长。
